Commonalities and Differences between Myotonic Dystrophy: DM1 and DM2

Commonalities and Differences between DM1 and DM2

Ralf Krahe, Ph.D. and Bjarne Udd, MD, PhD have created a table showing the commonalities and differences between DM1 and DM2. They assert that these two seemingly very similar diseases are, in fact, very different diseases upon careful clinical examination.

These tables are presented here by permission of the authors and represent a work in progress as research continues to evolve on the understanding of the clinical manifestations of both diseases. Therefore, It is quite possible that one will receive different opinions from different clinicians on certain aspects of these tables.
